Currently I am on a plane cruising over 30,000 feet above the earth. We are handed warm face cloths, 3 meals, unlimited drinks and peanuts. . . but underneath us is a world of ‘life’.

If I Had Wings
f I had wings I would fly all of these children to loving families. Ones that will treat them to Ice Cream Sunday’s, fun filled holidays, water fights, hot chocolate, grandparents, board games, and a loving family pet. . . If only I had the wings.
Today I sat down during their fellowship service, a [...]
Kenya: Damn Rhino
Welcome To Africa, the land of smiling children, music, dance, and rhino’s sitting in the middle of the road.
Today Kelly, Neda, and myself stepped outside of the orphanage and into a smelly cab to take a trip through the reserve. As we took a glance outside our windows we saw giraffe’s, monkeys, wild hogs, water [...]
Kenya: We Suck At Washing Cloths
We Americans live our life in abundance. We have been accustomed to grocery stores being fully stocked, starbucks on every corner, and power flowing on a consistent basis. Here in the orphanage we wake to the question, “Is the water running?” or “The power is off today”. Back home we constantly hear about global warming, [...]
Kenya: Tour Of The Schools
Hello Everyone,
Today we took our camera’s and toured the local elementary and high school. I am still left not knowing exactly how to put into words what I saw. Imagine the drive to Las Vegas, take an old condemned building and placing a sign on the outside that said, “Primary School”. Paint the inside classroom [...]

As a child I remember watching the discovery channel about far off tribes that do not have power, running water, television, cars, or movie theaters. At the time I couldn’t imagine what life would be like. However, now I can see it. Yes, these [...]
Kenya: “I Run To Run Away”
Hello To All:
We passed out over 200 pairs of sandals today. First we went to Huruma, the orphanage about 2 miles away. All ran to the car willing to help us carry our large boxes to their study hall. One by one they came in and sat down in their regular places. One started drumming [...]
Kenya: Banana Smiles
Hello Everyone,
Today has been an emotional roller coaster. The water cut out today – so that was our first adversity to overcome. Yet, we came prepared with gallons of bottled water!
Today we stepped outside to see life on the other side of the walls. We walked to their sister site about 2 miles away. As [...]
Kenya: Trip Arrival
Hello Everyone,
Today we arrived to the orphanage. And Wow, what an amazing experience. Starting off.
The Ride:
The ride was crazy, and I thought I drove bad. They don’t really follow any rules per say. They honk a ton, and then bomb down the rode dodging cows and goats, which are deathly sickly looking and skinny. Currently [...]
